Died after 5 months.
I bought this at Target. It was the last one and I thought how lucky I was. I used it as a listening center for my students because it had a cd and cassette player and they loved it. Until the headphone jack broke and was beyond repair. My students have severe learning and developmental delays. They did not like listening to their favorite stories without their headphones. The headphones shield out other sound and are a source of sensory comfort. Extremely disappointed with product and will not buy a Memorex product again.

Planned obsolescence
Why are all these little CD players junk? 25-30 dollars is not throw away money for most people. I’m so tired of these major brands like Memorex and Phillips selling cheap machines that don’t last. I don’t know if they’re all made by the same sweatshop in China or what, but whoever designs and makes them has no pride in their workmanship.

Going on 3 years and still loving it!
We bought this for my baby’s room. He is almost 3 and since he was tiny we have used it every single night to play his “night night” cd and for every nap he has taken at home. We have never had a problem with it. It looks great in his room since its blue, too! Now, the sound quality is not perfect, but for the price and for a baby/toddler, it is absolutely fine.
